Exton Estates and Clowes Developments have gained permission for a 308,860 sq ft logistics development in Hampshire.

Plans for Solent Distribution Park, granted by Havant Borough Council, include EV charging points, LED lighting systems, photovoltaics, air source heating and extensive landscaping at the site to support ecology and assist drainage. A BREEAM Excellent rating is being targeted.

The distribution park is thought to be one of the largest logistics developments on the South Coast. Works are expected to finish by Q4 2023.

James Mawson, director of Exton Estates, said the consent will allow the business to “deliver much-needed warehouse and logistics space in the South Coast Corridor while creating good local employment opportunities”.

Luke Mort, associate director of Lambert Smith Hampton, which has been appointed as joint leasing agent on the scheme alongside DTRE, said: “With modern logistics space still in short supply in this market, we are anticipating strong occupier demand from a variety of distribution, manufacturing and 3PL operators.

“This is one of the few ‘oven-ready’ schemes in the region for this size and will provide much-needed new stock.”

Jake Huntley, partner at DTRE, said: “The scale of this opportunity is unique for the South Coast at present. Occupiers benefit from the ability to design a unit to exactly suit their needs at Solent Distribution Park.”
