Exton Estates, funded by Rockspring, have commenced construction on the striking new headquarters office development within the historic boundaries of the world famous Brooklands race track. The stylish development will offer 103,600 sq ft of exceptional quality accommodation together with 370 car parking and 100 cycle spaces.
Velocity designed as two independent self-contained buildings is arranged over five floors and due for completion in autumn 2012.
The scheme is located in close proximity to Junction 10 and 11 of the M25, and the A3 dual carriageway together with the international communications offered by Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. Additionally, Velocity benefits from superb rail connectivity with Weybridge station approximately one mile from Brooklands providing an excellent commuter service to London Waterloo in only 34 minutes.
James Mawson at Exton said “We are very excited to be involved in one of the very few speculative developments in the South East. Our readiness to start on site is underpinned by our confidence in the product which we will deliver at Velocity. The striking architecture coupled with a highly efficient BREEAM “Excellent” specification will ensure Velocity is the best scheme delivered in 2012.”
Richard Baines at Rockspring added “Rockspring are focused on delivering a number of key developments in the South East next year. Velocity will be one of the first and we are determined to set a new benchmark in terms of building design, quality and the occupational terms”
Rhodri Shaw, Partner at Strutt & Parker commented “Weybridge is one of the very few towns in the South East where the supply and demand dynamics justify a speculative start on site. We have great confidence in the scheme which is reflected in the number of potential tenants we are already talking to.”
Strutt & Parker and CBRE are retained as joint sole letting agents for the development.
