Planning consent for Huntercombe Park

An Exton Estates and SWIP joint venture has received planning consent for a 90,000 sq ft office development at its Huntercombe Park development by junction 7 of the M4 at Taplow, between Slough and Maidenhead. The single BREEAM Excellent building over 2 & 3 floors will sit in its own 8 acres of landscaped grounds with 298 car spaces.

Stuart Bedford of Exton Estates said 'Importantly the new building will be BREEAM Excellent with private open space externally for staff relaxation or corporate entertaining. The scheme will be self-contained and discreetly located in Green Belt yet have the M4 junction, train station and amenities all within 1 mile. Quite unique compared to other deliverable sites in the Thames Valley.'

The office element is one of 2 phases of redevelopment for Wyeth Laboratories' former hq bought in January this year and the jv has agreed to sell 3 acres of land to Taylor Wimpey for residential development.

Stuart Bedford added 'This is great progress on our original business plan for the site and more than vindicates the original reasons for the purchase. Exton is keen to secure similar sites to take forward through planning and develop out.'

Strutt & Parker and BrayFoxSmith acted for Exton/SWIP on the land sale, Lambert Smith Hampton and BrayFoxSmith are agents for the office scheme.
